Okay, so something I used to see a lot on Malice Mizer/Klaha fansites was the claim that Klaha is classically trained or a 'classically-trained opera singer'. Thing is, beyond these claims I've never seen anything personally in interviews and such that would indicate that. Perhaps I've missed something, though? Anybody know anything about this?

I've never seen anything about this either and after listening to Salome live, I'm inclined to say he hasn't had formal opera training... ::shifty:: I don't remember seeing any interviews where he talked about it specifically, but I'd be surprised if he hasn't had voice lessons. I think he comes across as being more operatic because he normally sings in a lower baritone and doesn't really sing in the higher vocal range of more conventional VK singers, but sometimes his vibrato is a little out of control. I like his lower, fuller tone though, and I'd like to see him do experimental dark/new wave music like Pride of Mind again.

I'm pretty sure it's something someone on the internet just kind of decided. Like, "He sounds good in this (studio) recording, so good that the only logically possible explanation is he must be a part-time opera singer." As far as I know he never claimed anything of the sort though.

HAHA THIS IS TRUE. That said, I enjoy the shit out of the live performances of Salome for that very reason xD I would like to see him do something like Pride of Mind again, too.

And thanks for the answers, the both of you!
